About hunter

Hunter grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where he attended Jackson Preparatory School.  While at Jackson Prep he played baseball, football, and soccer, and was named a National Merit Semifinalist.  After high school he attended Millsaps College where he played baseball.  While at Millsaps he was named two time conference player of the year, three time All-American, and was selected to the D3baseball.com All-Decade team for the 2000s.  After college Hunter played two years of professional independent baseball in the United and Frontier leagues.  After finishing his baseball career Hunter took a job as a freight manager for Advanced Drainage Systems, where he stayed for two years until opening Coyote CrossFit in 2013.  Hunter fell in love with weightlifting in high school and after years of sport specific training he took up CrossFit in 2010.  He competed as an individual at the South Central Regional in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, at the South Regional in 2017 on team Coyote CrossFit, and coached the Coyote CrossFit team to a 7th place finish at the 2018 South Regional.  Hunter opened up Coyote CrossFit in 2013 because of his passion for health and fitness and his desire to help Mississippi become a healthier state.  Since opening in 2013, Coyote Fitness has grown to 5 locations throughout the state, with plans for more locations in the future.  Hunter has a passion for helping people get in the best shape of their life, and for teaching other coaches how to make a career in health and fitness and to have a positive impact on their community. Hunter is married to Claire, and they have two dogs, Rosie and Marty.
